you know when of the biggest issues on the two sides are pay increases. they want to offer any percent raise but the workers are asking for a 21 percent raise over the same period with his three years. both sides said both proposals they receive financial we don't make sense. they have agreed to meet each day this week and hopes to find some common ground. >>: until we make progress on both a safety proposals that the union has advanced to which the district has had no response and to the economic proposal, we unfortunately do not have very good news to report. >>: there are very structural changes that need to be made to pension and health care spot to 3 that-

temporary asylum in russia. the u.s. is charging him with espionage for leaking the existence of nsa surveillance programs. meantime, president obama is inviting a bipartisan group of lawmakers to the white house today to discuss their concerns about the national security agency's surveillance programs. the top democrats and republicans on the house and senate intelligence panels will attend. the meeting comes as lawmakers concerned about privacy are pushing to rein in the n-s-a's authority. obama's national security team is arguing to keep its surveillance powers intact while acknowledging some limitations appear inevitable. we will be right back.

the organization issued an emergency call for donations in june when they were less than 50- thousand blood and platelet donors. since then, donations have increased 15 percent. northern california blood services needs approximately 300 donors each day. >>mark:a funeral will be held today for a woman who died in a boating accident on new york's hudson river just two weeks before her wedding. the service for lindsey stewart will be held at the church where she would have been married on aug. 10. stewart died friday night when the powerboat she was in crashed into a barge. her fiance was injured and his best man also was killed.

>>darya:the search continues for the gun used in the aaron hernandez murder case. investigators we're back in connecticut yesterday looking for the weapon the former n-f-l star used to murder odin lloyd. surveillance photos from hernandez's massachusetts home show him holding what appears to be a gun shortly before and after lloyd was killed. lloyd's body was found on june 17th near hernandez's home.

poll shows californians are ok with governor jerry brown ahead of a possible reelection. the poll by the public policy institute of california find a record high 54 percent approval rating. but it shows less support when it comes to climate change. only 44 percent of voters say they approve how brown has handled the issue. the governor has not announced that he's running for reelection next year. but he did fall campaign finance reports wednesday showing he has more than $10 million in his campaign account. >>darya: local officials across northern california are going more for street with illegal marijuana growers. they passed the state for help in protecting streams and rivers from harmful sediment and chemicals used in the legal world, which are more that often carved out of hillside by bulldozers. they had hoped to charge growers under federal and state clean water regulations with tougher penalties to the infractions local officials could impose. but so far

routes. bart and its labor unions wrapped up a day of negotiations late last night. last night we spoke with a union representative who said no progress was made on the key financial issues. but they reached agreements on several supplemental issues in regards to work rules. the two sides remain at odds over pay increases, health care costs and pension contribution. each side is pointed the finger at the other claiming their contract offer does not add up. we spoke with one rider this morning will have to call out of work on the last bart strike and says he's afraid he'll have to do that again. >>: i how proud i can drive- as i don't have a car that i can drive. >>: how much of an

agents in 17 of the 44 bart stations during opening and closing. agents are currently coming in early to get the job done. bart station agents take us behind the scenes, for a first hand look at what they do and some of the the problems they face on the job. bart says their proposal allocates 18 positions so that two people would be opening the stations. they say they are also increasing security cameras in the stations. >>mark:one man is dead and another critically injured after a shooting in antioch. police responded last night, to the area of delta fair boulevard and buchanan road after reports of shots being fired.

two adult male victims were found parked in a vehicle. one victim was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was transported to the hospital in critical condition. the suspect vehicle is described as a gold four- door vehicle, possibly a honda or chevy. anyone with information is urged to contact antioch police. a man charged in the deaths of two san francisco jewelry store clerks and critically wounding the shop owner has pleaded not guilty to murder and other felony charges. this man-- barry white junior entered the pleas yesterday. prosecutors allege the 23- year-old antioch resident brutally attacked the victims because he believed he had overpaid for a piece

of jewelry by about three- hundred dollars. this is video from the scene of the shooting on july 12th. the attack inside the san francisco giftcenter and jewelry mart was captured by store surveillance cameras. bed bugs have been confirmed in one of the two goodwill warehouses still shut down in the bay area this morning. exterminators are scheduled to tent and treat the affected area at the san francisco warehouse at 11th and mission. this video shows a pest control inspector and his bed bug sniffing dog leaving the charity's burlingame location after searching the area for several hours. no trace of the bugs found there. the dog got worn out before checking the entire space and another dog will be brought in to finish the job today. people showing up to drop off donations or shop were a little rattled on the news. nearly everything inside the san francisco warehouse is

being taken to a landfill. sonoma county is upgrading the water supply pipeline to santa rosa to make it more seismically sound. the project includes installing 2-thousand feet of a 36-inch diameter steel water supply pipeline where the aqueduct crosses rodgers creek fault. the steel pipe will bend in the event of a fault rupture due to a major earthquake. the project is partially funded with a one-point- three million dollar fema hazard mitigation grant. san francisco's refuse collection and disposal rate board has finalized a 22-percent rate increase for trash collection. this rate hike will go into effect starting today. the board finalized the approval of a monthly increase of 6-dollars and 17 cents. that makes the rate 34 dollars if you have a 32- gallon trash can. however, if you switch to a smaller 20-gallon bin their rate would decrease to 24- dollars and 68-cents. the decrease is in an effort to get more people
